The panel will be fine. The studs might not. In a shower or a damp basement, the details are the waterproofing system — seams, edges, penetrations, all of it.

Also worth saying: Trusscore is not a structural material. You can hang lightweight items on it, but cabinets and heavy shelving need long screws that reach the studs.

Honest doubts, and what happened after

Temperature swings also matter more than people expect. In an unheated garage in a freeze-thaw climate, the panels move across seasons. Fastener depth and trim clearance have to account for that. Read the technical datasheets and follow the recommended spacing — this material punishes shortcuts.

And if you're a first-time DIYer who hasn't touched a circular saw in a decade, expect a learning curve. The cutting is easy; cutting cleanly isn't. Most homeowners I've helped get comfortable within the first wall, and then they get fast. Just don't expect the first 40 minutes to be pretty.
